Description
We’re riding to raise critical funds and awareness for people living with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) in South Africa.
WHAT we’re raising funds for
Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is one of the most common inherited disorders, affecting the lungs and digestive system. Public awareness in South Africa remains low, which means many people are under-diagnosed or diagnosed too late.
SACFA works to change this by improving awareness, supporting families, and advocating for access to proper treatment and care.
WHY your donation matters
A breakthrough treatment called Trikafta has transformed the lives of people with CF around the world. It improves lung function, reduces infections, and greatly enhances quality of life.
But in South Africa, access remains deeply unequal. Only patients on certain top medical aid plans currently qualify for it.
Without medical aid cover, the medication can cost millions of rand per year, placing it far beyond the reach of most families.
Funds raised will help SACFA continue fighting for wider access and supporting patients who desperately need this life-changing drug.
HOW you can help
By supporting this fundraiser, you will directly assist SACFA in its efforts to:
- Advocate for equal access to Trikafta
- Support families who cannot afford treatment
- Increase awareness and promote earlier diagnosis nationwide
Every kilometre we ride — and every rand contributed — helps someone with CF move closer to the treatment and hope they deserve.
SACFA is also able to issue Section 18A certificates for tax-deductible donations.
Thank you for your support and generosity.
